When on route, the tourists cross the Almaty region from the West
to East along the Great Silk Road 200 km in length and have the possibility
to see Saxon mounds and ruins of ancient towns along the road.
The Valley of Castes is a natural counterpart of the Great Canyon
of the river Colorado in USA. The canyon of the left tributary of
the river Charyn formed in sedimentary agrillo-beakstone lacustrine-fluvial
paleigene-neogene deposits. Fantastic forms of rocks resemble fairytale
personages and walls of mediaeval castles to the tourists.
TOUR TO THE LARGE ALMATY LAKE.
Distance – 40 km.

One way journey time is 2.5 hours, which includes a visit to the
mud stream check dam in the canyon of the river Bolshaya Almatinka
bearing the traces of the last mud streams. Time of sightseeing
and dinner – 7 hours. The rock-dammed Mountain Lake is located in
the forest area of the National Park “Ile Alatau” 2511 meters over
the sea level with maximum depth 35 meters and temperature of water
in summer 10-12 degrees. The Program includes a visit to the Observatory,
seeing of the picturesque environs, rest and dinner on the bank
of the Lake, overnight in the guest-house.
Another variant of this tour with climbing the Large Almaty peak,
3600 m. (from pass Zhusaly Kezen 2-3 hours - beautiful view on the
Almaty and environs).
1. TRIP TO ALTYN-EMEL NATIONAL PARK.
Distance – 500 km.

It is situated at the distance of 250 km from the City of Almaty
in the valley of the Kapchagai reservoir . One way journey time
is 3.5 hours to Baschi village. Program of the tour includes: 1-st
day – auto-tour around Aktau mountains with hot lunch and dinner
overnight in the guest-house (6 double rooms).; 2-nd day – breakfast,
Singing Sand Dune, camel-riding, Bes-Shatyr burial mounds, lunch-box,
transfer to Almaty by bus.
4. TREKKING THROUGH CHERTOVOE AND TALGARSKY
PASS.
Distance – 40 km.
Time of departure is at 9.00.
Time of return is at 17.00.

One way journey time is 1.5-2 hours. Time of trekking – 7-9 hours.
This trekking start from the Tuyuk-Su place (upper Chimbulak). After
arriving we walking up to the Abai pass through the Chortovoe valley,
lunch, walking through the Abai pass to Bogdanovich glacier, hot
dinner, overnight in the tents. It is most picturesque two-day tour
in mountains Zailiisky Alatau. Next day walking down the glacier
to Talgarsky pass and down to Chimbulak.
Return to Almaty.
5.TRIP TO ISSYK-KUL LAKE.
Distance – 500 km.
Time of departure is at 9.00
Time of return is at 22.00.
Seasons: May - November
One way journey time is 8 hours along Zailisky and Kungey Alatau
mountains. Overnight in a sanatorium near the lake. Full board.
It is the world second largest mountain lakes with depth of 668
m. and altitude 1609 m. surrounded by beautiful mountains.
6. TWO-DAYS CLIMBING IN ZAILISKY ALATAU MOUNTAINS.

Time of return is at 19.00 – 22.00.

Wonderful trips for any healthy people. Experienced, high altitude
and rock climbers will climb with you any mount and any route you
want. It is wonderful for any healthy people. Hot dinner and breakfast,
lunch-boxes, overnight in the tents or guest- house. Best season
is June-November.
7. TREKKING THROUGH TALGARSKY AND ABAI PASS
Distance – 10 km.
Time of departure is at 9.00.
Time of return is at 20.00.
Seasons: June-October
First day transfer to the Chimbulak ski resort, then by the lift
we reach the Talgarsky pass (3300 m.). From here walking up to Bogdanovich
glacier, overnight in the tents on moraine (3-4 hours). Next day
climbing rocky Abai pass, and descend through Chortovoe valley to
Tuyuksu gorge. Transfer to Almaty.
8. TRIP TO AKSU-DZHABAGLY
Distance – train-700km., horse-riding – 30 km.

Aksu-Dzhabagly Nature Reserve is the oldest nature reserve in Central
Asia. It’s also the first one in the world to get UNESCO’s status
of biosphere preserve. For more than 70 years
fauna and flora of Aksu-Dzabagly are safe of an ax, gun and industrial
pollution. The symbol of the preserve is the Graid’s Tulip. There
are another unique natural monument- Aksu Canyon- is of 15 km long
and 500 m deep, with the nearest distance between the canyon walls
of 600-800m
There is also a paleonthological preserve a the altitude of 3000
m over the sea level.
Pertroglyfs here go back to the 5-7th cc BC.
The preserve is only one night by train from Almaty and only 100km
from Shymkent.
During the trip tourists will have the best chance to contact with
wild nature, nomads and horses. Tourists will accompanied with experienced
horse-riding guide. This horse-riding tour is possible for any healthy
people, for everybody, who was not riding before.
Tourists can to go to Aksu Dzhabagly by night train evening Friday
and arrive to Aksu-Dzhabagly at 8 o’clock, breakfast, accommodation
in the guest-house, breakfast, lunch-boxes, hot dinner. First and
second days tourists horse-riding to valleys: Kshi-Kaindy, Zhabagly,
Ak-Su or another. Tourists can choose take a part or watch of national
game “Kokpar” (a struggle between horse-riders for a goat’s carcass).
To Almaty tourists return by night train at 09.15 hours in Monday.
